A number of businesses assisted through e-Business Adoption are celebrating after scooping awards at the recent Excellence in Tourism Awards 2007.
Held on Tuesday 23rd October at the Town Hall in Birmingham, the annual Excellence in Tourism Awards ceremony attracted the cream of the West Midlands £5 billion tourist industry.The event was organised by Tourism West Midlands, the strategic tourism board for Advantage West Midlands, in association with the national, Enjoy England Awards for Excellence 2008.
There were a number of nominations and various award categories highlighting the high quality of tourism products available throughout the region. e-Business Adoption clients Poston Mill Park, Lowe Farm and Woodhouse Farm Cottages were all recognised for their contribution to the West Midlands tourism industry..
Poston Mill Park scooped the Gold Award for ‘Caravan Holiday Park of the Year 2007’ and will automatically go through to represent the region in the national Enjoy England Awards for Excellence in 2008.
Lowe Farm won the Silver Award in the ‘B&B Guest House Accommodation of the Year 2007’ and Woodhouse Farm Cottages was honoured with the Highly Commended Award for ‘Self Catering Holiday of the Year 2007’.
All three Herefordshire based clients received IT assistance from e-Business Adoption, particularly with website development, in order to improve their use for internet technologies.
e-Business Adoption helps small and medium-sized businesses from the tourism, leisure and hospitality industries (as well as their supply chains) to adopt IT. It is a part of IT Futures at the University of Wolverhampton and is funded by Advantage West Midlands.
