CD launch is a real hit

Tourism businesses across the West Midlands now have vital IT information at their fingertips, thanks to the launch of a new CD.

The Customer Help Guides disk has been launched by eBusiness Adoption, which is part of IT Futures at the University of Wolverhampton.

It’s the result of the team’s work with small and medium-sized companies from the tourism, leisure and hospitality industries, and is designed to give the businesses something they can refer back to once their training is over.

Diana Thompson, Business Director of IT Futures, said: “We work with a wide range of companies, and they all felt it would be useful to have a CD to take away with them which guided them through the topics they’d covered.

“So we’ve launched the Customer Help Guides disk as a reference tool for all the businesses who have taken part in our training programmes.”

Funded by Advantage West Midlands, the eBusiness Adoption team can help with website design and development, IT training and demonstrations, and a dedicated support helpline.

And thanks to the support from AWM, there is no cost to the businesses who come to the project for help.

Since its launch in January 2007, research has shown that the eBusiness Adoption project is proving invaluable in helping small businesses make the most of technology.

“Our CDs are proving extremely popular with companies from all over the West Midlands who have benefited from the support our team can offer,” said Diana.

“They are an excellent way for the businesses to refresh their memories once they are back in their own workplace, and our team are also available on the support helpline if they need further assistance.

“Whether it’s taking an initial step into the world of the internet, building a website, marketing their website, or help with online ordering, trading or payments, there has been a whole host of reasons businesses have turned to us.”

eBusiness Adoption has a team of in-house web designers and developers who are helping to support the growth of the tourism and leisure industries through the use of internet technologies.
